The envelope is a very picturesque one and tlio whole document has a most, unique appearance. We are informed that Mr W. Forbes, the Independent Opposition candidate, has withdrawn in favour of Mr C. Messrs Smith ami Caurhry are holding their half-yearly sale of ladies' and children's underclothing, etc., on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 7th and Bth, and invite inspection of their now and beautiful ranges. Tenders are called by advertisement in this issue for the erection of stand and outbuildings for To Kuili Uaeing Club. Mr Ceo. T. Hopkins notifies that ho has started a laundry in Taupiri t^l reel., opposite the Town Hull. Ho solicits a fair share of patronage and sstates that lie will call on guests in the various boarding bouses every Monday and Wednesday. Messrs St. Hill, Mrathwaito and Co. advertise in another column their agency for Messrs Williams and Kettle's seeds, to which attention of farmers is specially drawn.
