Gooding for a lease of section 11, block 6, town of Huiroa.—Resolved that year to year lease be granted to applicant under section 124 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rental of 5s per annum.

IMPROVEMENTS AND RESIDENCE. E. Tolme reported on the inspection of four holdings; improvements, required £695, effected £924; none are in default for residence or improvements. H. Twiss reported on the inspection of 38 holdings; improvements required £8475, effected £1(i,295; four have not effected sufficient improvements; three are in default or residence,, and one for residence and im-provements--Anderson and Burns in default for improvements to show cause why their section should not be forfeited.

T. G. Fookes, solicitor, applied on behalf of N. B. Fryday and A. Castle for extension of time to do improvements on section 7, block 13, Ohura. —Extension granted under the exceptional circumstances until January, 1913. LAND FOR BALLOT. The Commissioner reported action taken with regard to offering new block of land 33 under:—

10,105 acres, Whatitopkarau block, Rangi S.D., 4000 acres, Mapara S.D. —Decided to hold ballot at Taumarunui about the end of November or early in December, and to exempt the land from rent and rates for one year. 12,343 acres, Ruoraomouku block, Omara and Taurakawa S.D.—To be offered at Stratford about the middle of December. Two years exemption from rent and rates recommended. The Whakaihuwaka block. Kanara and Tua S.D. to be offered at. Pa to a ahmii same date. Three years' exemption from rent and rates recommended. Julian to purchase Rangitoto-Tuhua, 77 E. section 1 A, now Crown lands: Application not entertained. —W. G. Fargie, lessee of section 22, block 1, Mahoe, applied for the gravel reserve adjoining section and also part of the road reserve to be included in the lease: Referred to ranger for report and valuation o\ unimproved value with view to disposal. —J, W. 11.
