Bull fighting levies a heavy toll upon human life. During the recent season in Madrid at least _ 12_ bull fighters were killed and 111 injured, al-ecord of casualties unprecedented in~the history of the national sort of Spain It has been computed that about'2soo bulls and 3500 horses are killed every >ear in Spanish bull fights.
