Te Kuiti railway goods station has now been connected by telephone, and enquiries for goods can be addresed to the office direct, instead of to the passenger department, as hitherto. This should be a great convenience to consignees, as cases have occurred of goods lying for days, and demurrage being charged where a direct enquiry might have saved all trouble.
