BOWLING & CROQUET CLUB.

A meeting of the Te Kuiti Bowling and Croquet Club was held in the club'a pavilion on the IGth inst,, when all the members of the committee were present. The secretary reported that the lady members of the Croquet Club had met and elected a committee to deai with croquet matters and to make arrangements for the supply of refreshments during the current season. Further arrangements were also made in connection with the club ball, which is being held on the 29th inst.

Messrs Julian, Lusk, Williams and Stevens were appointed a finance committee to collect current and outstanding subscriptions. The question of a water supply for the green was brought up and the secretary was instructed to communicate with the Borough Council and ask that the water be laid on to the green at the earliest possible date.

Fifteen new members were nominated and a special effort is to be made to bring the membership up to one hundred. The committee decided to open two of the croquet lawns for play on Saturday afternoon next at 2 o'clock, weather permitting.

According to the vita! statistics of New Zealand for 1910 there were 731 deaths from tubercular diseases, 397 of which were males and 334 females. Deaths resulting from cancer during the year were 742, males 399, females 343.
