TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the above club was held in the Waitomo County Office last evening. Major Lusk (president) occupied the chair. A large number of members were present. The annual report was submitted. The secretary read and detailed the balance-sheet. Messrs Ofcway and Stevens moved that the report and balance-sheet be adopted as read.—'Carried. The following new members were elcted: - Messrs E. A. Power, J. Wall, A. Cameron, F. Julian, C. K. Wilson.

The election of officers resulted as follows-. Patron, Mr W. T.Jennings, M.P. ; president, Major Lusk; vicepresidents, thirteen names were submitted and a balloc taken which resulted in Messrs Wra. Taylor, T. E. Foy, W. I. Combs, R. Bailey and L. Jacob being elected: committee, seventeen nominations wre received and Messrs " Lusk, Falwasser, Matthew, Wallace, McCardle. Mussen, Cochrane, Vercoe, Snadden and Quirk were elected.

Messrs Graham and Falwasser moved that the secretary be empowered to obtain clerical assistance, such assistance to be paid for at the rate of a sum not exceeding £2O per annum.

Messrs G. Otway and N. B. Lusk moved that Te Kuiti Racing Club join the Mutual Sports Protection Association and that the secretary be authorised to forward the names of all members who signify their approval of the scheme. —Carried.

Messrs Forsyth and Howarth moved that the secretary communicate with the association and obtain further information and that those present subscribe towards the associations' funds, the Racing Club to make the amount to £5 and forward same to the association.- —Carried. Mr Cochrane moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mr N. B. Lusk for the able manner in which he had superintended the formation of the racecourse and brought it to its present excellent state.—Carried with applause. It was resolved that circulars be sent to representative men in surrounding districts soliciting their cooperation. The fact was announced that the King Country A. and P. Association had accepted the terms offered by the Racing Club for the use of their ground for show purposes, the chairman recapitulating the offer made by the committee.

Major Lusk moved and Mr Foy seconded that the Racing Club's committee's action in this matter be endorsed.— Carried.

A very hearty vote of thanks was carried by acclamation for the good services rendered bv the secretary (Mr Howarth) during the past three years. Mr Howarth in reply stated that what he had done had been done purely in the interest of sport, and had been a pleasure to him.
