An explosion of gas occurred in the Kaitangata mine on Monday, blowing out one of the stoppings. Two men were knocked over, hut beyond being dared ior a time they were uninjured. The afternoon shift refused to resume work, a« t here have been two fatailties and a number of minor accidents in this mine since last May.
