MANIAPOTO JiUGHY UNION. A meeting of the above Union was held in the President's oliice on Tuesday evening last. Mr Falwasser, the occupied the eluir. Resolved, that the resolution passed ! at last meeting that, the proceeds of I the Otorohanga-Te. Kuiti match be i donated to the South Auckalnd Union : be rescinded, and that the. following [resolution take its place: "That the ' gate money taken at Te Kuiti-Manga-peehi match to be played at Te Kuiti be devoted to the South Auckland Rugby Union." It was then resolved that tiie pro- : ceeds of the Otorohanga-Te Kuiti ' match be given to the Mani-poto ; Rugby Union. Resolved, that the arrangements ■ for the Te Kuiti-Otorohangi schoolboys' match be left with the Secretary ; he to interview the school-masters interested. A letter was receiver] from Mr Brown, Secretary of the King Country Union re a match between the Maniapoto and King County native members of the Union.
Resolved, that the Secretary of the King Country Union be written to asking whether Saturday, September 2nd would be a suitable date for the Te Kuiti seniors to play Taumumnu-i atTaumarunui; and also stating that the Te Kuiti Club would endeavour to take junior team; also thai the matter of the match between the native teams be deferred until a later date, owing to the large number of fixtures to be played. The following letter was received from Mr E. Johnson, referee in the Goldiields - Maniapoto match: "1 would like to inform you of the great pleasure it gave me to referee in the above match last; Saturday. I fully appreciated the absolutely clean football of your team, and though beaten your representatives won golden opinions here by their fine sporting spirit in hanging right; out to the end." —It was resolved that Mr.Johnson be written to and thanked for his very kind letter which was much appreciated by the Union. It was resolved that letters of appreciation of the many kindnesses shown to the Maniapoto team be forwarded bythc Secretary to Mr Kennie, Secretary of the Rotorua Union, and Mr MeDougall. President of the Thames Union. The next meeting of the Union will be held in the "Chronicle" oflice on Tuesday next, August 22nd.
