During the past few weeks, the senior children at Tc Lvuiti school, under the guidance of Mr Power, have been busy in their spare time, digging over a stretch of the river reserve, which runs close by the school liuildings. The lads have done good work in clearing' out, tlx' blackberries, by niak in;; deep ir-mclies, an:l disposing of them, root': and all, and the children gencrallv have subscribed to plant the reserve wit It oak, elm and plane trees. About fifty 1 roes have heen planted. If the whole reserve could he treated in a similar fashion, it would be much more a! tract ive than it, is at present, and visitors would linger by the river's brim who now avoid that repository lor old tin cans and rubbish.
