FOOTBALL.

Te Kuiti travelled to Mangapeehi on Saturday last to play the last of the cup fixtures. The Mangapeehi forwards were very light, four of them weighing und r eleven stone each, and the result was that they were overwhelmed by the visiting pack. The Mangapeehi players have proved very prone to fail to put in appearance on the field after being picked to represent their club, and substitutes to be found on the day of the match. However, the play was fairly even, and the score in favour of To Kuiti, of 19 to nil, does not truly indicate the play. The visitors were much quicker than their opponents at taking advantage of scoring opportunities when near the line. Tries for Te Kuiti were registered by Devine, Dewar, Uothery, Cleaver, Kikaka, and two were eonverted. For Te Kuiti, Rothery, Poole. Potier, and Cleaver played well. Potier was especially safe at defence. For Mangapeehi, Tomlinson, Charteris and Johnson were especially noticeable. The visitors were enertained to dinner at Mr Butler's boarding house, and returned by the evening goods train. Mr Lusk was referee.
