A COTTAGE HOSPITAL.
At the Borough Council meeting held on Tuesday Cr Tammadge spoke upon the matter of the erection of a Cottage Hospital in Te Kuiti. He thought something might be done by the Council to further the project, and felt sure that other local bodies and friendly societies would assist. The Mayor stated he thought a public meeting might be called to consider the matter, and he was prepared to call a meeting if it was thought desirable. He however would attend the next meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board and would place the matter before the Board, and find out their position.
Cr Forsyth suggested that for the time being a first aid room with appliances, should be established in conjunction with the Fire Brigade buil-1-ing about to be erected. He also thought first aid classes should beheld.
Cr Sims moved that the Mayor be asked to bring the matter of a Cottage Hospital before the Wakaito Hospital Board at their next meeting, and that a public meeting be held in Te Kuiti at a later date. —Seconded by Cr. Young and carried.
