Newton King reports:— S On Wednesday, 12th inst., I held a j clearing sale at Normanby in conjunc- I tion with Messrs Gillies and Nalder, i on account of Mr F A. Higgs, when j there was a good attendance, and the cattle, especially those showing good Holstein strain sold well. Good grade Holstein early calvers made ,£H! to £2l ss, later £9 to £ll ss, pedigree Jersey cow, "Una" 2lig3, "Lady French" 43*gs, pedigree Jersey bull "K See Y" 16gs, pedigree yearling ' Jersey bull 9gs, ordinary early calvers £7 10s to £l4, later £4 5s to £7, ; yearling heifers £2 Is to £2 Ss, 2 year heifers £3 Is. At Stony River on the same day : there was only a small yarding, and i bidding was very quiet. Mixed : weaners made 21s, yearling steers 30s ton £2 0s 6d, yearling heifers 34s to 36s fid, empty heifers £3 10s 6d, springing heifers £4 2a, store cows 30s to £3, fat cows £4 14s to £5 ss, dairy cows, £5 5s to £7 19s.
