The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., report:— At Ohaupo on Tuesday we had a medium yarding of cattle and sheep, with a keen demand for the former, but sheep were dull of sale. Prices: 3 to 3iyear steers, fat and forward £7 18s 6d, 3 year steers £6, steers £l3s to £5. IS month to 2 year steers £3 5s to £3 15s, 2 year empty heifer £3 7s 6d to £3 16s, yearling steers £2 5s to £2 9s 6d, good calves £1 lis to £2 3s, empty cows £2 18s to £4, according to condition, dairy cows £4 10s to £5 15s, springing heifers £4 12s 6d to £5 10a.

We held a sale of dairy cows and heifers in the Hamilton yards on Wednesday, 19th inst, when an entry of over 400 came forward. Bidding was rather dull just at the start, but afterwards good competition reigned throughout and late values were fully maintained. Nearly all sold at the hammer. Prices: Dairy cows young and sound —■ Jerseys £6 15s to £9, Shorthorn £(i to £B, Holstein £7 10s to £8 10s. backward springers £4 15s to £6 10s, best Shorthorn heifers £6 7s 6d to £7 10s, others £5 5s to £6 2s 6d, smaller and more backward £4 5s to £4 15s, Jersey heifers £7 10s to £8 12s 6d.
