Would it, not, be fair that the public be given .fully to understand wherein lie the benefits of this class of iUuminant, as- against the older and will known systems':' It, is stated that besides Hie simple matter of lighting, this new gas is practical Ily useless. Would it not, be wise for champions of the different, systems to stato their case fully and lucidly, and then the ratepayers have the, opportunity for saying .at. a poll which they prefer; ami so remove the responsibility from the shoulders of a few possibly interested log-rollers, 1 am, etc., .MECHANIC.
