TONKING'S COMPETITIONS.
The winners in the recent flower and acrostic competitions conducted by the proprietors of Tonking's Linseed Emulsion are announced. These contests have aroused great enthusiasm and have attracted a record number of entries. The triples competition advertised in this paper will remain open until further notice. Voting for the £IOO public prize contest in the flower, acrostic and triples competitions is creating considerable interest. The result will be announced at the conclusion of the triples competition. FLOWER COMPETITION. In this competition the six flowers selecting by the voting of competitors were as follows: —Rose, carnation, sweet pea, violet, chrysanthemum, lily. First prize of £lO, to G. H. Veale, Supreme Court, Wellington. Five prizes of 10s each to Jessie Robinson, Avondale; Miss R. Gawith, Aokautere: Dorothy Robinson, Wellington; Mrs A. E. Kennard, Caversham; F. A. Cleveland, Remuera. Ten prizes of 5s each to Sydney Mullenger, Remuera; Jessie M. Gray, Rocky Nook; Mrs M. L. Jackman, Auckland; Mrs A. O'Brien, Waiheke Island; James Fleming. Haclombe; Mrs A. Shipherd, Epsom; Miss J. Black, Dunedin; Margaret Forbes, Portobello; Master Charles Eyles, Blenheim; E. W. Field, Aokautere. ACROSTIC COMPETITION. The sentence, which was selected by a prominent journalist chosen as judge for this competition, runs as follows: "Tonking's only needs knowing; its name guarantees satisfaction." Three competitors were successful in sending in this sentence, and the first prize of £lO will be divided between W. Ambury, New Plymouth; Miss Wilson, care Mrs W. R. Wilßon, Afton street, Gore; Miss Flora August, 200 Spey street, Invercargill. Five prizes of 10s each to Mrs F. Peek, Auckland; Mrs A. Donovan, Kilbirnie; J. H. Kidd, Greytown; Mrs A. M. Major, Dannevirke; Mrs J. F. Menzies, InvercargiH. Ten pries of 5s each to John Edgar, Dunedin; T. W. Davies, Remuera; Herbert Cule, Feilding; F. W. Morrow, Maungatautau; Mrs W. Bailey, Ohinemuri; Catherine A. Edmond, Dunedin; B. Taylor, Wellington; Mrs M. L. Boyce, Christchurch; F. A. Cleveland, Remuera; Master H. Twining, Auckland..
