HOSPITAL CONTROL.
DUTIES OF HOARDS. DEPUTATION TO MiNISTKU. While tin-: Hon. dV.o. Fowlds was in Hamilton this week ho was interviewed by representatives of the Waikato Hospital Board with reference to a number of new duties which it is sought to impose upon Hoards, as indicated at tho late conference in Wellington. He assured the Hoard that they need have no fear about the v.unbidgo Sanatorium being foisted opon them; that the Government intended to subsidise medical associations as before, but from a different department; that it was intended to do away with the subsidies to medical me;] to attend Maoris and devote the money thus saved to the training of nurses for tho Maoris; that ho thought the Rotorua hospitals and the new territory included in the Waikato district would be an advantage, to the Hoard rather than otherwise, and that he did not st>o much chance of netting aside an endowment for tho Uoard.
