BRICK WALL COLLAPSES.
KILLS ONE AND INJURES TWO. [IIY TF.I.KGRA.ni. —T'IIKSS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, This Day. George Blewitt, middle-aged and unmarried, was killed this morning at 9.30 through the collapse of a britk wall which was being removed. Char. Littlecott and Jack Carrie, who were working with him, were seriously ir.jured. An old building in Gloucester street was being pulled down, ar.d Blewitt and his companion were undermining the brick wall, which is about 12 feet high. Apparently no precautions were taken to stay the wall, and when it collapsed the men were taken unawares and buried under the bricks and mortar.
