MOTHER AND SON.
CLAIM FOR MAINTENANCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRKBS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. A young man named Thos. Wilson was arrested prior to leaving for Sydney, for failing to make provision for the maintenance of his mother, when an order was in force. It appears <he mother had sought an order against her son, but the application was dismissed. She later took further similar action, her son, foolishly, not defending, being under the impression that it being dismissed before he need not attend. As a result an order was made in default of his appearance. He was leaving for Sydney for a better position. His wife and child have now gone on in the boat, and the son only had £l4 10s in the world. Mr Kettle said there was no doubt if defendant had attended the Court on the second occasion, no order would have been made. He looked on Wilson as an honest young man Hia wife and family had the first claim on him, and therefore the order for maintenance would be cancelled
