RENDER TO CEASAR THE THINGS THAT ARE CAESAR'S.
To The Editor Sir, —I am proud to know that the great majority of the citizens of Te Kuiti are good and loyal subjects of our noble King George V, who with the beloved Queen Mary was yesterday crowned. We also know that New Zealand as a whole is held in highest esteem by their Majesties and every town or city in the Dominion has done honour to the occasion. Even our Te Kuiti school children and the faithful few who attended the Church of England did honour to the occasion. I regret exceedingly that our Chief Magistrate did not rise superior to the paltry technicality re public holidays, and invite the citizens of Te Kuiti to assemble and march in procession tn a place where our glorious flag might have been saluted- —that flag to which we owe so much of our liberty, and for which our forefathers and kinsmen freely shed their blood. Had he done I feel sure our citizens would have responded to a man —I am, etc., UNION JACK.
