BY an Order-in-Council which came into force on May 25th, the Public are called upon to make a joint effort for the Extermination of Rats for the Prevention of the Spread of Plague. Trapping, poisoning, or other effective means must be used to get rid of them. It is also necessary to prevent the accumulation of rabbisb of both offensive or inoffensive kinds which may prove a harbourage for rats; and also protect any waste food, grain or other foodstuff from access by rats by providing covered refuse receptacles for all such matter.
