SHOCKING ACCIDENT. [IJY TELEUBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] - Gisborne, This Day. A shocking and fatal accident occurred last night at Te Karaka station. A little girl named Norma Phillips.aged 3J years, boarded a tram with her mother, and the lattc? rushed out of the carriage on to the platform to recover a parcel she had forgotten. Her daughter followed the mother, and had just reached the outer platform of the carriaee when the train started. The child was thrown on the permanent way and her head almost severed from ths body.
