"THE WANDERERS."
MANAGER INJURED. [BY ' TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. "A disturbance near His Majesty's Theatre last night resulted in injuries to Fred. Duval, theatrical manager of an entertainment given by "The Wanderers," which was disturbed-by a man who went out during the interval. The doorkeeper refused to admit him, and he returned with several friends and demanded admission. Duval, manager of the company, endorsed the doorkeeper's refusal, and was struck a heavy blow on the side of the head, and knocked against the corner of the building. A melee ensued, in which several blows were given and returned. Duval waa rescued from the crowd, bleeding freely from a nasty scalp wound. Subsequently a man named Alfred Watson was arrested and charged with assaulting Duval and using obscene language. N At the Police Court this morning, Alfred Watson, charged with assault on Fred. Duval, and using obscene language, was fined £ls, or 14 days for assault, and £2 or seven days for using bad language.
