FIRE BRIGADE.

Mr J. Erickson, Secretary of the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade.wrqte the Borough. Council on Monday, as follows: "I am instructed by the members of the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade to agaiiidraw attention to the fact that the list, of articles required by the Brigade . have not been received from the Council. The Brigade feel their position keenly, and feel that, as communications from the Brigade to the Council are never answered, and as no effort is being made by the Council to equip ' the Brigade, there is only one course open, and that is to disband. As such an action would be disastrous to a own of such importance as Te Kuiti, the Council wi>l see the absolute necessity of immediate action. Should the Council consider the establishment of an efficient fire brigade of sufficient importance as to merit their consideration, the Briagde would respectfully urge upon them the necessity of granting their requests. As the annuEl general meeting of the Briagde will be held on Wednesday next, June 7tb, a reply to this letter before that date would be esteemed a favour." The writer referred to some of the most urgent needs of the Brigade.
