PHEASANTS.

INTERESTING IMPORTATIONS. The Auckland Acclimatisation Society received by the Matatua a consignment of old English and Chinese ring-necked pheasants. Out of 24 birds shipped from London, 16 arrived in splendid condition. The birds will be forwarded to the Society's breeding place at Okoroire. A further shipment of cock pheasants is expected by the next boat. The Society has expressed it sincere thanks to Captain Gilman, of the Matatua, for the great care taken of the present shipment on the voyage to New Zealand.
