Jennings, M.P., saw the Lands Department re the survey of the site for the Ratanui hall and school, and was informed the delay was owing to no surveyor being available. The vesting of reserves at Oparau for Harbour Board purposes, which the Kawhia County Council had applied for, was being enquired into, and the lighting and care of beacons at Marokopa had been dealt with by the Marine Department which was appointing Mr Honore to look after matters.
In regard to the request of residents at Te Kuiti for supply suitable trees for planting on reserves, etc., on next Arbor day the Minister for Agriculture replied that he has referred the matter to the Forest Department. The importance of the immediate erection of schools at Pio Pio and Piriaka were brought before the Board of Education, and the member was informed that both were set down on the Board's list as urgent. Mr Jennings visited the Winter Show at Hamilton yesterday, and leaves for Te Kuiti to-day.
