HOME INDUSTRIES. Yesterday afternoon in response to an appeal from Mesdames Gadsby and Somerville, a large meeting of ladies was held in the Association's office, for the purpose of working up a comprehensive schedule in the Home Industries section. Mrs W. Gadsby presided. The following Committee were elected, with power to • add to their number: —Mesdames Gadsby, Somerville, Hitchcock, Huddleston, J. James, N. C. Matthew, Mostyn Jones, White, Jordan, sen., Julian, Bond, Cowen, Miss Handyside and Mrs A. B. Jordan (Secretary). The following special prizes were donated:—Mrs Hunt, £1 for best colIcetion of cut flowers; Mrs Julian £l, needlework for school children under 15 years of age —for best darning, pillow case, dressed doll and pinafore; Mrs Mostyn Jones, £1 Is, for best table decorations; Mrs J. James, £1 Is, best rich cake and sponge cake, first and second prizes; Mrs N. C. Matthew, £1 Is, for best shower bouquet or others; Mis 3 Handyside, ss, best perspective drawing for children first and second prizes; Mrs Huddleston, £l, to be divided into four 5s prizes; Mrs Jordan, sen., £l, to be divided into four 5s prizes for fancy needlework; Mrs A. B. Jordan, £l, to be divided into four 5s prizes. A special prize is to be donated for the best loaf of bread baked by a bachelor in a camp oven. Another meeting is to be held in the Association's office next Tuesday afternoon, at 2.30 p.m. All ladies are invited to attend.
