Although there was sunn- proposal atoot to "Mondayise" many of the public holidays, the I'ublic Holidays Act, I.'lo, did not carry this proposal into eil'ect a;t regards tlio Sovereign's birthday. Under this Act it i* only when tne Sovereign's birthday falls on a Sunday that it shall be deemed to oe on the succeeding Monday. Iho only holidays that are actual'y 'Mommyiaed" are Labour Day. which is moved from the second Wednesday in October to the fourth Monday in October, and Dominion Day which is now to bo held on the fourth Monday in September,
