THE COUNCIL OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE OTOROHANGA NATIVE TOWNSHIP. "VJOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Inhabitants of the Otorohanga Native Township held on the twenty-fifth day of April, 1911, it was resolved (by way of Special Order) that the above Council make a by-law under ''The Native Townships Local Government Act, 1905," and the provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 190S" and Amendments, and every other Statute enabling the said Council in that behalf the object and purport of which by-law is as follows : PART I. Dealing with interpretation generally and services of notices and amount of penalties for breaches of the by-law. PART 11. Concerning the regulation of the erection of buildings, the submission of plans of the same to the Council, the repair of buildings, the erection of stables, and regulating the sanitary condition of stables, cowsheds and cattle yards. PART 111. Concerning streets and premises abutting on same, the construction of drains, erection and lighting oi hoardings and scaffoldings and provisions for the issue of licenses for the erection of same, the lighting of soil and debris placed in streets, the wandering and grazing of cattle upon certain streets, regulating cycle traffic, and the breaking, tying, tending and selling of horses. Regulating the driving of vehicles and lighting of same between sunset and sunrise. PART IV. Concerning privies and cesspits, the sanitation of buildings and houses, the construction and maintenance of privies, prescribing the pattern, inspection and cleansing of same, and regulation of contracts made in that behalf. PART V. Regulating the keeping, condition and inspection of dairies and vending of milk, meat and produce, the accumulation of refuse, and the conduct of offensive trades. PART VI. Dealing with matters which are offences under Part I of "The Police Offences Act, 190S,"and with securing the foundations of buildings, obstructions of and damage to watercourses, pumps, and troughs, destruction of and damage to trees belonging to the Council, the deposit of paper sweepings and refuse in streets and the driving of stock along certain streets. PART VII. Concerning the prevention of fire, causing or suffering the firing of chimneys, deposit of ashes, the keeping of petroleums, explosives and oils, the issue of licenses to store same and regulating such stores. PART VIII. Regulating the conduct of billiard rooms and shooting galleries, the issue of licenses therefor, the hours of .closing same, and entry of young persons therein. PART IX. Regulating the hawking and peddling of goods and licensing of hawkers and peddlers. PART X. Regulating the registration and issue of licenses for and the conduct of lodging houses, and the amount, and regulating of sleeping accommodutin therein and ventilation thereof, with provisions for fire escapes. PART XI. Concerning and regulating the licensing and driving of vehicles plying for hire. AND NOTICE is hereby also given that the said resolution and Special Order will be submitted to a special meeting of the said Council to be held at the offices situate at Tuhoro Street, Otorohanga, on the 23rd day of May, 1911, at 7.30 p.m., for confirmation as a Special Order. A full and true copy of such resolution is deposited at the Council Offices situate at Tuhoro Street, Otorohanga, where it lies open to the inspection of the public during office hours until the said meeting shall be held.
