Mr : Fisher was without the adventitios ; j aids of the tongue of a ready speaker, i but by honesty and strong convic- ' tion, had reached the Prime Ministership. He had done much to raise the human race to a higher plane. Mr Fisher, replying, said- whatever the Labour leaders of Britain might say about defence, he would ask them not to prescribe for the conditions obtaining in Australia.
