HOCKEY.

A we'll attended meeting of those interested in the formation of a hockey club was held in Mr McColl's shop last evening. Mr Chas. Turner was voted to the chair. Owing to last year's Secretary being unavoidably absent, no report of the position of the previous club was available. It was resolved that those present form themselves into a committee, with Mr T. Dswar as Secretary and Treasurer. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. It was decided that an effort should be made to arrange a match with Te Awamutu at an early date. After several other matters were discussed, the meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the chair. A practice is to be held in the domain to-morrow afternoon, at which all members and intending members are requested to attend.
