MANIAPOTO RUGBY UNION

A meeting of the above Union was held in the "Chronicle" office on Wednesday evening last, Mr Falwasser, President, in the chair. Delegates were present; from the Mangapeehi, Te Kuiti, Tanehopuwai and Otorohanga Clubs. Resolved that three selectors be appointed for the representative matches. The following were appointed Selectors:- Mr Worthington (Otorohanga), Mr Matthew (Te Kuiti), Mangapeehi to nominate the third. Mr Moorhouse moved that a Referees Association be formed in conjunction with the Maniapoto Rugby Union. Seconded by Mr Matthew, and carried. It was resolved that three rounds of matches be played in the forthcoming season. Mr Worthington gave notice of motion that, a win should count two points and a draw one point. The following was the result of the drawing for the first round of matches: May 20— Tanehopuwai v. Mangapeehi, at Te Kuiti. Te Kuiti v. Otorohanga, at Otorohanga. May 27--Mangapeehi v. Otorohanga, at Mangapeehi. Tanehopuwai v. Te Kuiti, at Te Kuiti. June 3 Tanehopuwai v. Otorohanga, at Otorohanga. Mangapeehi v. Te Kuiti, at Te Kuiti. June 10— To be arranged. Second Round. June 17— Mangapeehi v. Tanehopuwai, at Mangapeehi. Te Kuiti v. Otorohanga, at Te Kuiti. June 24 Otorohanga v. Mangapeehi, at Otorohanga. Te Kuiti v. Tanehopuwai, at Te Kuiti. July 1— Mangapeehi v. Te Kuiti, at Mangapeehi. Tanehopuwai v. Otorohanga, at Te Kuiti. Third Round. To be arranged. Mr Matthew proposed, and Mr Moorhouse seconded, that a grade be formed for schoolboy football, to play under tho jurisdiction of the Maniapoto Rugby Union.—Carried. Mr Moorhouse donated a challenge cup for competition among the boys' teams. The matter of arranging junior matches was left to the delegates of the various clubs to make enquiry and report to the next meeting of the Union. The next meeting of the Union will be held in Mr Falwasser's office, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, 13th inst.
