CANADA AND UNITED STATES

THE FREER TRADE MOVEMENT By Telcjrraph.—Press Association. —Copyrijrlit Received May 2, 11 45 p.m. Washington, Yestredav. Debating the Free List Bill in the House of Representatives, Mr Madden (Wisconsin) hoped that some day Canada would be a part of the United States. One people, one flag, one Government would be better for all, when such came to pass, if it ever does. Speaking in the Senate, the Hon. Stone denounced the alleged unjust propaganda for the defeat of reciprocity, and hoped freer trade with Canada would result. The American people ought not to be alarmed by the stories of ruin being circulated. The Hon. Baliinger said America lost ten million dollars revenue without any adequate return.
