KIO KIO RIFLE CLUB.

The annual meeting of the above Club was held in the Puketarata school house on April 29th. President Woi'thington was i:i the chair, and a good muster of rillemcn attended. After the minutes of the previous meeting bad bean confirmed, the Secretary read his report of the year's working, and submitted proposals for the ensuing year. The Treasurer submitted his balance sheet showing a credit balance. Both report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: Patron, Mr Jennings, M.P. ; Vice-patrons, Messrs W. Wylie, R. Green, D. Ross, W. Vicary, li. G. Matthews; President, Mr Wm. J. Worthington; Vice presidents, Messrs Ross and Wylie. Three new members were elected. It was resolved that a match be fired on Empire Day —Club v. Territorials (Otorohanga Troop) ; failing that a match between teams chosen by President and Vice-president. A vote of thanks to Mr Matthews for use of ground for range and to outgoing officers was passed, and concluded the meeting. In connection with the above, writes our correspondent, I am pleased to observe the keen interest being taken in the Club, new members being sworn in, others making up their minds to join, and old members generally rolling up to the business meetings. It is to be hoped that the proposed competitions will stir up the enthusiasm of the remainder of the members and make the club what it ought to be, viz, a strong shooting club. The material is there, and only requires practice to bring out all the dormant skill.
