ENTERTAINMENTS.
♦ - EMPIRE PICTURES
Monday night's programme at the Town Hall was one, as the advertisement said, 'to remember" The hall was crowded in every part, and the exciting dramas and humourous items followed with intense interest throughout. "Fox-hunting in England" easily stood out as one of the very finest open air series of scenes we have ever looked on. The foxhounds, the huntsmen and the fox itself were all admirably shown, and altogether a remarkably clear idea wa3 given of England's sport for the classes. But there were other good things too: "A ramble through Ceylon" and "Elephant hunting in Africa were realistic and informing, and on the other hand Foolshead and Tontolini, not to apeak of Tom Thumb and his giant mistress, were the cause of roara of laughter. Next Monday we are promised another startling prorgamme, including a series of views of Melbourne, King George opening Pailanient, and numerous other topical, dramatic, military, scenic and comic pictures.
