SOUTH AUCKLAND RUGBY UNION.

l A meeting of the abave Union was I held at Te Aroha on Monday last. | Delegates were present representing | the following sub-unions:—Waihi, Karangahake, Vv'aikino, Paeroa, Piako, Maniapoto and King Country. s The Treasurer's report and balance were adopted as read. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows: -Pat- ■ ron, Mr H. Poland; President, Mr Field; Vice-presidents, Messrs Lavery, Falwasser and Clarkin; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Bush; Management Committee, Messrs Lusk, Corbett, Clarkin, Mclntyre and Walmsley; Auditors, Messrs Quick and Dickson; - Delegates to the N.Z.R.U., Messrs Field, Matthew and Mclntyre. A letter was read from the King Country Union, asking several questions affecting players in that Union. The questions were discussed at length, and the decision of the N.Z.R.U. is to be obtained on certain points. The President suggested that each sub-union set aside one Saturday for the funds of the South Auckland Union, this suggestion meeting with approval. The matter of a Ranfurly Shield match was dealt with at length. A scheme was formulated for a series of games to be played between the following unions:—Bay of Plenty, Goldfields, Waikato, Maniapoto, and King Country. It was arranged that the Goldfields Union and the King Country and Maniapoto Unions play home and home matches this season, and that i the B3y of Plenty and Waikato Unions play home and home matches. These | matches to bs arranged before June j 30th. It was considered that this J scheme would bring the sub-unions | into closer touch with each other. j At the close of the meeting a genj eral discussion was entered into, upon I matters affecting the game in genera!, ; and the South Auckland Union in ' particular, and it was felt that a lot j of good had been clone by this meeting j of delegates.
