Weaners made 20s to 333, yearling to 15 month heifers £2 to £2 Ss (id, store cows £3 to £3 10s, forward cows £4 to £4 10s 6d, fat cows £4 ITs 'id to £(i 2s (id, springing cows £5 7s to £6 2s (id, bulls £f. 2s to £6. On the same day I held a clearing sale at Toko on account of Mr M. H. Hart, when there was a good attendance with good demand and satisfactory prices were realised. Early calvers made £(i 10s to £S 7s (3d, later calvers £3 10s to £6, heifers in calf £4 12s (id to £5 os, weaners 16s, stack of oaten sheaf £l3 10s, hay £9, jack £3 ss, sows £1 15s, sundries sold at usual rates. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday, weaners made 25s to 375, small weaners 12s (id to 17s 6d, store cows £2 6s to £3 12s 6cl, forward cosvs £4, in calf heifers £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, fat cows £4 17s 6d, springing cows up to £7, bulls £2 lis to £3 7s 6d. The Farmers' Co-operative Co., Ltd., report: — At Tirau on April 10th we had an entry of 905 head of cattle, 3126 sheen, 29 horses and a lot of farm im pletnents There was a large attendance and a fair sale aii through. A line of 200 2h year steers and about half the entry of sheep failed to reach owners' estimates; the balance found purchasers. A dairy herd of 40 cows made from £4 5s to £7 15s, forward 3* year steers £6 10s to £7 2s 6d, fresh 2i to 3 year steers £5, fat cows £4 15s to £5 15s, forward and meaty cows £4 5s to £4 12s dd, 18 month to 20 month heifers £2 15s to £3 2s 6d, same age steers £3 5s to £3 10s, good calves 30s to 355, smaller lots 20s to 255, large framed 4 and 6 tooth wethers 15s 6d, small fat wethers 14s, fat ewes 12s 9d, fair lambs 6s 6d to 7s 9d. cull lambs 5s to 5s 9d, good active farm horses, draughts, £26 to £3B, Massey Harris drill £26, roller £l3, ci.f. plough £B, mower £9 30s, other implements, harness and sundries usual rates. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: — At Te Awamutu on Saturday, Bth inst., when a fair yarding of cattle came forward, including well grown calves, some choice lines of heifers, also steers and a few pens of fats. The sale was somewhat dragging throughout, especially for calves, for which there was absolutely no competition. Most of the other lines were, however, sold directly after the sale, before they left the yards. We quote: Fat heifers £5 10s to £5 19s, fresh empty cows £3 7s to £4, heifers in calf £4 13s to £5 ss, calves £1 10s to £ll ss, small calves £1 4s to £1 Ss, fleshy bulls £3 to £3 12s 6d breeding sows £1 to £1 15s, Messrs Dalgety and Co. have also received the following cablegram from their London office: —Frozen meat: Poor demand; mutton and iamb id to |d lower. Beef: Unchanged. Tallow: Buyers have withdrawn from the market, owing to continued decline. Further decline is expected at to-morrows sales.
