Speaking at the Independent Labour ' Conference at Birmingham, Mr W. Anderson, in his presidential address, ! said Sir Edward Grey's speech was a ray of light heralding a new dawn. : There was more need for an AngloI German agreement than for any other. The present Government had been influenced by scares and grossly imaginative estimates of Germany's ' ship building. The most untutored j Jingo could not have outspoken Mr McKenna. An animated discussion took place on a resolution instructing the labour members to vote on every subject, regardless of the consequences to the Ministry. Many blamed the party for not supporting Mr KeirHardie's protest on the Cambrian i strike. | Mr Ramsay Mac Donald explained they were afraid to censure Mr Winston Churchill and endanger the Government. The conference adjourned. PREVIOUS QUESTION CARRIED Received April 19th, 9.30 a.m. London, Last Night.
