PIO PIO TOWN HALL.
A meeting of shareholders of the Pio Pio Town Hall Company Ltd. was held at Mr Hattaways Temperance Hotel Pio Pio, on the evening of the 15th inst. Mr A. J. Rawstron, chairman of directors, presided. It was decided to erect a hall worthy of this progressive township and district, and a plan by Mr J. Jones, architect, Te Kuiti, was adopted. The hall will be 50ft by 3f,ft, with a porch 12ft by 10ft, walls 15ft high. The features will include stage, fire escape, etc. The huilding will be erected on a commanding and central site presented to the company by Mr V. S. Hattaway. of Te Kuiti, as a free gift. It was also decided to get the material for the erection of ■ the building carted out before the road breaks up it possible. Over two hundred shares have been taken up, but at least another hundred or more -.re required, and no doubt is fjlt but :ht'V will I)? forthcoming. Mr Win. Tower was elected secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year. Mr Hattaway was accorded a vote of thanks for the use of his room, and i the meeting closed with a vote of ! thanks to the chairman.
