AN ISLAND PLATFORM.
Now that Te Kuiti railway station is in process of re-construction passengers are beginning to see that the erection of an island platform, which would enable the north and south night expresses to be at the platform at the same time, would be an immense convenience and advantage to all who have occasion to use the railway station. The work has barely started yet, and if the Minister of Railways were willing to consider this suggestion the small alteration could be readily effected, A bridge will be built, in any case, to enable the public to cross the line to the other side, and this is easily adapted to giving access to the platforms. We suggest that our local bodies should take the matter up and make repreentations in the proper quarter.
