' It is understood that the Pio Pio dairy factory will close down at the i end of this month, owing to the recent j long spell of dry weather. 1 Any householder who may have failed to receive a census schedule, ! who is resident in Waitomo, Waipa, Kawhia cr Awakino Counties, is requested to communicate at once with Mr Charles Bowden, Census Enumerator, Te Awamutu, who will forward the necessary paper. Constable Eraser, of Otorohanga, was promoted to Sergeant as from Saturday last. The new sergeant is highly respected in and around Otorohanga, and has the reputation of showing considerable ability when acting as prosecutor. He was complimented from the bench quite recently as to the way in which he got up his cases,
