NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent New Plymouth, April 1. On Friday, 24th inst., I held a clearing sale on the Carrington road, on account of Mr F. Schodrou. when there was a fair attendance of buyers. The dairy stock were mostly heifers in calf, and springing heifers, a few having calved, and satisfactory prices were realised. Weaners made 26s to 295, heifers in calf £3 5s to £4 2s, springing heifers £4 12s Gd to £5 7s Gd, springing cows £4 to £6, heifers calved £3 to £3 15s, bulls £2 to £3 12s 6d. lambs 9s; mower £S 10s, rake £4, jack £5 2s Gd, chain harrows £3 10s, dray £5; sundries sold well. At the Hay market on Saturday there was a fair yarding of pigs. Weaners made 4s to 6s, sows 15s to 18s 6d, small sows 10s Gd to 14s, porkers 255. At Eahotu on Tuesday there wag a good yarding, with a good attendance j of buyers. All classes were in good demand, practically everything being sold at the hammer. Weaners made 23a to 38s, yearlings to 15 month heifers £2 Gs Gd, store cows £3 to £3 17s Gd, forward cows £4 3s to £4 17s, fat cows £5 to £5 18s, bulls £2 5s to £4 12s Gd. At Waiwakeho on Thursday there was a full yarding. Weaners made 14s to 38s Gel, weaner Jersey heifers £3 ss, yearling to 15 month heifers £2 15s Gd to £2 19s, yearlings steei'3 £2 12s, 18 month steers £3 Is, store cows, £2 Is to £3 15s, forward cows £4 to £4 163, fat cows £5, heifers in calf £3 17s Gd to £4 2s, springing heifers £5 17s Gd to £7 7s Gd, springing cows up. to to £9 los, working bullocks £8 ss, bulls £3 10s to £5 10s, f.m. ewes Gs 3d, cull ewea 2s 5d to 3s 7d, lambs 7s 4d to 9s Id.
