At the Borough Council meeting on Wednesday night a letter was read from Messrs Green and Colebrook, Ltd., asking that the footpath in front of their store shoud be either paved or temporarily fixed up. The permit previously given them they declined to act on.—lt was decided to reply that the Council had already dealt with the matter in granting the firm permission to lay their frontage on giving an undertaking. If the firm was not prepared to carry it out, the Council declined to do anything. Te Kuiti is to have a skating rink at an early date. The building which is to be KRift hy GOi't, will be commenced next week. A circular floor is to be put in in order that skaters may have the best of rinks. Residents will undoubtedly appreciate this opportunity of participating in this popular winter pastime.
