ENTERTAINMENTS.

"THE MAN THEY COULD NOT HANG." The Edmund Carrol Dramatic Company staged the above play in the Town Hall, Te Kuiti, last evening, and were greeted by a large audience. The play in itself was rather disappointing, for its weakness in many parts was very pronounced, but nevertheless the company did justice to the characters impersonated. There was the proverbial hero (John Lee, characterised by Mr Roy Herbert), and the villian (Fred Masterville, acted by Mr C. M. Keegan), with the usual run of smaller parts, headed by Dicky Dood (Mr G. Gardiner) and Polly Mec (Miss. Curny), who kept up a lively vein of humour during the whole performance. It is the Company's intention to return with a new play entitled "Streets of London" shortly, when they will do:ibtlea3 receive the 3:11:1 c generous support, as way accorded them last night.
