"Some are too pessimistic, some too optimistic," reflected Mr Justice Cooper when the appointment of a valuer to report on the assets in a deceased estate was under consideration in the Supreme Court. His Honour had a good word for Government valuers. He explained that their figures were generally a fair one, in his experience. They had the revenue to think of on one hand, while on the other side there was the prospect of the Government being required to purchase at their valuation if it was too high.
