When washing oilcloth, a tablespuonful of painter':! size added to a pailful of water will give it a glossy surface and make it wear much better than when washed in the ordinary If soup is Lu be good it must never be allowed to get cold in the saucepan, but must be strained off directly it it sullii'iently cooked. Skimmed milk and water, with a bit of glue in it, made scalding hot, is excellent to restore old, rusty black crape; if well squeezed and pulled dry, like muslin, it will look as well or better than new.
