The Catholic Bishops of Salford and Nottingham and Father Bernand Vaughan applaud the proposals of President Taft and Earl Grey. Cardinal Logue. whilst desiring universal peace, said he has no confidence in the movement whilst millions were screwed from the poor to build Dreadnoughts. He was not hopeful that President Taft and Ear! Grey would conclude a treaty before better relations with Germany were established, and the Irish question settled.
