ACETYLENE GAS EXPLOSION. [MY 'L'KLEGIt.YPIt. —i'BKSS ASXOf iATIOX.] Feilding, This Day. A shocking tragedy ocurred at Colyton last night, which resulted in the death of Stephen Melvin, an old settler. Melvin, who had had an engineering training, was experiment* ing with an acetylene gas plant made by himself with a milk can and oil drum, when an explosion took place, inflicting injuries to MeJvin's head. He died half an hour later.
