ENTERTAINMENTS.

j EMPIRE PICTURES. The above picture company gave another delightful programme at the Town Hall, Te Kuiti on Monday last, when there was a crowded auudience. As usual the pictures were clearly screened and elicited just appreciation from all present. The dramatic and comedy films, "First Love is Best" and "Daisies," were very capitally shown as also were those entitled "By Faith of a Child," "Across the Plains," "When we were in our Teens," etc. The comics were well up to the standard, and caused much merriment-. This company is certainly catering well in its particular line, and will no doubt keep its hold on the public. The management habitually break new ground in their recurring changes of programme, and the one to be presented at Te Kuiti Town Hall on Monday next will be no exception to the rule. It was put on at Hamilton on Wednesday evening last in the presence of a crowded audience, and the general opinion expressed was that it was one of the best produced by the Empire Picture Company. The scenic picture depicting the Antarctic expedition in the ice-fields of the far south is in itself well worth the price of admission. Another splendid subject shows a squad of Italian Artillery manoeuvring over the roughest of rough country, and the splendid horsemanship of the men is said to be quite a revelation. The dramatic, instructive, topical and comic items are all stars, and the Waikato papers speak in the highest possible praise of them. The "Times" says there is not a dull moment from start to finish of this very fine programme. On Monday night it will be shown in its entirety in Te Kuiti, and a very big house should reward the enterprise of the management.
