County Foreman. Mr Harland wrote in reply to telegram that he woukl be able to undertake his duties on or about 16th inst. Tokirima Road "Thirds."—A peti- j tion was received from Messrs Good- j fellow, Print, O'Malley and Coogan, j requesting their available "thirds" | to be used in widening at certain i points.- -"Thirds" scheduled for this j purpose. | Waitewhena Road "Thirds."—C. j E. Bissman, Barnett and Adams wrote asking that their "thirds" be j made available for widening at once. ! —Agreed to. i Brand Registration Districts.--The j clerk was instructed to procure Ga- j zette of 24th March, 1910, containing '■ the defined boundaries. Telephone Guarantee. —The Ohura Medical Association forwarded cheque for £o 7s 6d, being deduction made by the Postmaster-General on installation of telephone to doctor's residence. Mr Beiesford wrote asking to have his "thirds" expended in bridge giving approach to his section instead ; of widening as ho was under a misapprehension when he consented to have them applied to widening Resolved that the "thirds" now due : be scheduled for bridge.

County Boundaries. —The Clifton County Council approved of sections ; 1, 2, 3, block 3, Waro survey district; 3, 4, 5, G, block 6; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, block 7, and an unmarked section i lying to the south of section 3, block 3, being included in the Ohura County, and requests the Ohura County Council to take the necessary steps to have the alterations Gazetted at once so as to take effect before next rate is ] levied. Joyce wrote asking his ; "thirds" be spent on the roads known | as Peak's trig road.—Agreed to. "Thirds" on Section 2, Block 9, sections 19 and 10 and 13, block 10 to be scent on culverts. —Resolved that the Council place on record the appreciation of the success attending the j efforts of the secretary of the Medical , Association in getting the unreason- I able charges reduced. Attachment Orders (interlocutory) ! were served on the Council by H. E. i Aves in re J. Ryan and C. Narby.— j The clerk was appointed to represent I the Council at the Taumarunui Court, j Rating on Unimproved Value. —A j petition was presented to the chair- j man asking that a poll be taken. — | The chairman reported that he had j taken the necessary steps and a poll j would be taken on the 25th inst. to j settled the vexed questions. ; Messrs Thompson and Wanklin | wrote that they intended issuing a publication to be known as the j "Ohura Advocate," and asked for the support of the Council.— | Received, and they be informed that j the Council was anxious to make their j local "Advocate" a success. ] District Engineer wired asking for j copies of claims for final payment on | Contracts Nos. 13 and 14.—Forwarded to Resident Engineer last August. Mangatawa Township.--The Resi- \ dent Engineer wrote that specifica- j tions for clearing and stumping 111 ; chains of streets and roads was estimated. K. Wille wrote requesting to be provided with dog collars that would be satisfactory to him, as the collars offered to him were of insignificent value and not fulfilling the condition ! of the Act. —Reply to be sent that ' authorised dog tax collector has offered collar with registration label affixed thereon as provided by the Act. Breach of Contract.—Mr McLeod, contractor, has entered a claim for £175 damages for breach of contract on carting timber for bridges. Contract Let.—Contract No. 21 was let to H. Love and Contract No. ; 21a to P. Boisen. As tenders for township work were j too high it was resolved to call fresh j tenders, contracts to be smaller. Overdue Rates. —Resolved that all ; unpaid rates by end of February be placed in the hands of the County : solicitor for collection. '.
