BRASS BAND CONTEST.

[IIV 'l'rXK'.PAI'lI. —I'P.KSS ASSOCIATION-.] Palmerston, This Day. At the North Island band contest the A. grade test was won by the Wellington Garrison band, with a maximum number of points. 225, the Judge declaring the interpretation was perfect. Wanganui Garrison band was second with 205, and the Westport Garrison band with 195 was third. The B grade test was won by the Wellington Tramways band, with 216, the Ashburton Temperance band being second with 198, and the Gisborne City band third with 190.
